LIFE // COFFEE MACHINE

Sage Barista.jpg

My home machine is the Sage Barista promoted by Heston Blumenthal. It has an independent hopper & grinder, Thermacoil heating system with pre-infusion, a professional steam wand as well as a range of automatic and manual settings. www.sageappliances.co.uk/the-barista-express.html

LIFE // COFFEE TAMPER

I use a C-ripple Reg Barber tamper (from Canada). My Sage basket is a standard 54mm but when measured with a caliper was more like 53.7mm. I ordered a 53.2mm tamper and it is a snug fit and makes great shots - it's also a little work of art!

LIFE // COFFEE ART

Latte art.png

I enjoy experimenting with texturing and heating milk to create perfect micro-foam - well nearly! I'm self-taught when it comes to creating latte art, but have now become fairly proficient at creating something like the picture here!

LIFE // COFFEE BEANS (IN)

I like to experiment with different artisan and fair trade beans.

I mainly use beans from my local roastery, Ue Coffee Roasters and Barista Training Academy, based where I live in Witney. They also have a cafe based next to their wood-powered roastery.
